During the installation of PVC decorative sheets, the treatment of joints and corners is a key link in determining the overall effect and service life. Improper treatment will not only affect the visual appearance, but may also cause deformation and cracking of the sheet, reducing durability. By scientifically selecting materials, using appropriate processes and standardized construction, the beauty and durability of decorative panels can be effectively improved.

Precise cutting is the basis for handling joints and corners. PVC decorative sheets are soft in texture, and a dedicated high-speed cutting machine, such as a cutting machine with an alloy saw blade, is required for cutting to ensure that the cut is smooth and the burrs are reduced. Before cutting, accurate measurements should be made according to the installation dimensions, and the error should be controlled within ±1mm to avoid excessive joints due to dimensional deviation. For special-shaped corners, templates can be designed with the help of CAD drawing software, and processed by laser cutting or CNC equipment to ensure consistent corner curvature and improve overall coordination.

Choosing suitable connectors and sealing materials is the key. For the joints of PVC decorative sheets, you can use U-shaped or T-shaped edge strips of the same material to cover them. The edge strips need to match the color and texture of the sheet to achieve seamless connection. When installing, first evenly apply PVC special glue on the inside of the edge strip, quickly fit it at the joint, and fix it with a clamp until the glue is completely cured to ensure a firm connection. For large-area splicing such as walls and ceilings, embedded snap connectors can be used. Align the sheet slots and snap them into the snaps, which can hide the joints and enhance the stability between the sheets. In the corners, use silicone sealant or PVC special caulking agent to fill the gaps. This type of material has good elasticity and waterproofness, can prevent water vapor intrusion, and extend the service life of the decorative sheet.

Optimizing the splicing process can significantly improve the aesthetics. Common seam treatment methods include flat joints, bevel joints, and staggered joints. Flat joint is suitable for decorative panels with simple textures. During construction, the edges of the panels are aligned and the seams are covered with edge strips or decorative lines. For bevel joint, the edges of the panels need to be cut at a 45-degree angle. After splicing, continuous lines are formed, which has a smoother visual effect. It is often used in key decorative areas such as background walls. Staggered splicing breaks the conventional arrangement, reduces straight seams through staggered splicing, and increases the sense of hierarchy. It is suitable for large-area wall decoration. Regardless of the method used, it is necessary to ensure that the panels fit tightly during splicing to avoid gaps.

Corner reinforcement treatment enhances durability. Metal or PVC corner guards can be installed at corners that are prone to collision, such as door frames and window frames. The corner guards are fixed to the corners of the wall with glue or screws to form a protective barrier to prevent the panels from cracking due to external impact. For ceiling corners, use L-shaped keels for reinforcement, fix the keels to the ceiling, and then embed the decorative panels into the keel slots to enhance the load-bearing capacity and anti-deformation ability of the corners. In addition, at the junction of the wall corner and the ground, a skirting is installed for transition, which can not only cover the gap, but also protect the bottom of the decorative board from wear and water stains.

Surface modification improves the overall texture. After the joints and corners are processed, the surface can be modified for the second time. For the joints between the edge strips and the decorative board, use fine sandpaper to gently polish to eliminate glue residue and unevenness, and then spray the same color paint or apply caulking paste with a texture similar to the board to make the joints blend with the overall decorative style. For metal corner strips, the surface can be treated by electroplating, painting and other processes to coordinate the color of the decorative board and improve the aesthetics.

Regular maintenance extends the service life. After the installation is completed, the joints and corners need to be checked regularly, and problems such as cracking of the sealant and loosening of the edge strips need to be repaired in time. Avoid using sharp tools to scratch the joints when cleaning. You can use a damp cloth to wipe. For stubborn stains, use a neutral detergent to dilute and wipe gently. In a humid environment, reapply sealant every six months to prevent moisture penetration and mold and deformation of the board.

Strict quality control runs through the entire construction process. Before construction, quality inspections are carried out on materials such as PVC decorative sheets, edge strips, and glue to ensure compliance with national standards; during construction, follow the standard process and check the flatness of the joints and the firmness of the corners in a timely manner after each area is completed; after completion, an overall acceptance is carried out to ensure that there are no obvious defects through light inspections and touch inspections, so as to ensure the final aesthetics and durability.
